OCI Core Infrastructure Engineer (Java, PL/SQL)

Salary: $70,000 - 166,100 per year Requirements:

• At least 7 years of software engineering or related experience, with a bachelors or masters degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience building and operating end-to-end systems and services.
• Experience designing major features and launching them into production, operating high-scale services, and improving resilience.
• Experience with service-oriented architectures and RESTful web services.
• Strong skills in Java, J2EE, object-oriented programming, Core Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, and thread-safe coding.
• Experience with JWT, OAuth2, Okta, and other authentication and authorization frameworks.
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL development skills, including complex stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and bulk processing for high-volume transactional systems.
• Production database support experience, including SQL performance troubleshooting, locking and deadlocks, connectivity and connection-pool issues, scheduled jobs, and collaboration with DBAs on availability, access, and recovery.
• Experience with at least one scripting language for automation, proof-of-concept development, or command-line tools.
• Experience driving security, documentation, and UX reviews, and partnering with Product Managers throughout the launch lifecycle.
• Ability to work independently on most projects and tasks, with strong technical judgment and a focus on simple, scalable, highly available, and redundant systems.
• Preferred: Experience building and operating services on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Preferred: Experience using AI/LLM technologies to improve Java application support, automate log and incident analysis, and build secure, reliable AI-enabled solutions.
• Preferred: Understanding of multi-Availability Domain or Availability Zone architectures and regional data center design.
• Preferred: Experience building CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment controls, and release schedules.
• Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Preferred: Experience working with internal customers to translate requests into prioritized features and work plans.
• Preferred: Expertise in threat modeling and other risk-identification techniques for secure solution design.
• Preferred: Experience with FedRAMP, PCI DSS, or similar compliance, security, and audit requirements, and supporting large enterprise customers.
• This role is based at our Nashville, Tennessee campus, is not remote, and requires relocation for candidates who do not currently live in the Nashville area.

• Own feature design and drive tactical execution of features and projects.
• Build and operate distributed, highly available cloud services, addressing reliability, performance, scalability, and regional outage resilience.
• Balance speed, quality, and incremental improvement while making and communicating sound technical tradeoffs.
• Improve service operations through automation, instrumentation, monitoring, and proactive anomaly detection and root-cause analysis.
