The Security Operations Manager oversees the people and daily activities responsible for protecting client locations, employees, visitors, and property. This position is less about sitting behind a desk and more about making sure security coverage actually works officers are properly assigned, procedures are followed, incidents are handled correctly, and clients receive dependable service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage security officers, supervisors, patrol teams, and assigned security operations.
• Prepare staffing schedules and make sure posts have appropriate coverage.
• Conduct site inspections and review officer performance, attendance, and compliance with post orders.
• Respond to major incidents, security concerns, staffing problems, and client requests.
• Develop and maintain security procedures, emergency plans, and operational standards.
• Review incident reports and investigate recurring security or operational problems.
• Coordinate officer training, emergency drills, and site-specific preparation.
• Maintain communication with clients regarding service quality, risks, incidents, and changing security needs.
• Monitor security equipment, access-control procedures, keys, credentials, and other operational resources.
• Recommend improvements when vulnerabilities or weaknesses are identified.

O*NET describes security supervisors as directly coordinating security workers and includes responsibilities such as developing security procedures, scheduling emergency drills, training personnel, managing equipment, and handling departmental resources.

Requirements

• Previous security management, supervisory, military, law-enforcement, or protective-services experience.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills, especially during urgent situations.
• Experience supervising security personnel and managing schedules or multiple assignments.
• Good knowledge of incident reporting, access control, emergency response, and security procedures.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, clients, and senior management.
• Valid security license or management certification where required by state regulations.

Salary Range: $65,000 – $105,000 annually
