Project ManagerOur client is a well-established mechanical contractor with more than three decades of experience delivering complex HVAC systems throughout Southern California and the Western U.S. The company specializes in engineered HVAC design and installation, supporting both design-build and design-assist delivery as well as construction from fully engineered plans.With strong in-house capabilities including CAD/BIM, prefabrication, duct systems, and piping systems, the company is positioned to self-perform critical portions of its work while providing clients with efficient, high-quality mechanical solutions.The organization serves a diverse range of markets, including commercial and industrial, multifamily, student housing, hospitality, assisted living, government and military, and detention facilities.Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial mechanical projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This individual will take ownership of project financial performance, scheduling, client communication, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and overall project execution.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC/mechanical construction and the ability to manage technically complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience with design-build or design-assist projects is highly valued.Key ResponsibilitiesManage mechanical construction projects from contract award through closeoutEstablish and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controlsMonitor project financial performance, including WIP, billing, labor, material costs, and forecasted profitabilityReview plans, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work to identify project requirements and risksCoordinate with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and internal teamsManage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentationCoordinate closely with estimating, engineering, CAD/BIM, prefabrication, and field operationsDevelop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achievedManage material and equipment procurement to support project schedules and avoid delaysReview project changes and develop pricing, documentation, and negotiations as neededConduct regular project reviews and communicate project status to leadershipIdentify potential risks, scope gaps, and opportunities for improved project performanceSupport project turnover from estimating/preconstruction into executionMaintain strong client and contractor relationships throughout the project lifecycleEnsure projects are executed in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, quality expectations, and company proceduresLead project closeout, including punch lists, documentation, final billing, and warranty requirementsProject MarketsCommercialIndustrialMultifamilyStudent HousingHospitalityAssisted LivingGovernment & MilitaryDetentionRequirements5+ years of project management experience in mechanical/HVAC constructionProven experience managing commercial or industrial mechanical projectsStrong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical construction, and project deliveryExperience with design-build or design-assist projects preferredAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of workStrong understanding of project financials, including job cost, WIP, billing, forecasting, and change ordersExperience coordinating with general contractors, owners, engineers, vendors, and field teamsStrong scheduling, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong negotiation and client relationship management abilitiesExperience working with BIM/CAD and prefabrication environments is a plusBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will be consideredCandidates with experience involving HVAC, ductwork, piping, plumbing, hydronic systems, equipment installation, and engineered mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply.Experience working with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, BIM/CAD, and construction ERP/job-cost systems is beneficial.Benefits$130,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualificationsMedical, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holidaysOpportunity to work on complex mechanical construction projectsExposure to design-build, design-assist, BIM, and prefabricationEstablished company with a strong reputation and long-term market presenceProfessional development and career advancement opportunitiesCollaborative team environment
