Laboratory Technician I IRCAD - Per Diem

Schedule Details Department: 10010 IRCAD - Administration Status: Part time Benefits Eligible: No Hours Per Week: 0 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Variable Pay Range: $19.80 - $29.70 Under direct supervision, provides technical support for experiential education courses at IRCAD North America. Major Responsibilities Prepares laboratory environment for professional education courses as outlined by course coordinator and laboratory leadership. Prepares instrumentation, equipment, and consumables needed for the course. Conducts technical laboratory procedures and animal anesthesia, surgery, and postoperative care. Receives, prepares, positions, and performs proper disposition of all tissue samples. Assists in the monitoring of research laboratory inventory and equipment and taking appropriate actions. Follows all DEA regulations related to the receipt, storage, use, destruction, and disposal of controlled substances. Assist in maintaining the storage of research data and tissue records. Operates all equipment and devices necessary for the performance of laboratory procedures including radiographic equipment. Assists in the maintenance of the physical environment. Education Required Bachelor's of Science Degree required or its equivalent in experience. Experience Required 1 year experience in veterinary medicine, research, medical education, or healthcare field required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities N/A Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Work in fast paced office/laboratory environment. Requires ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to move and lift heavy objects. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner. Preferred Qualifications Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: RVT/LVT, AALAS certification Prior experience with surgery or anesthesia Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment.
