Immediate need for a talented Assistant Structural Revit Designer. This is a 12+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Chesapeake, VA (Onsite).

Pay Range: $35 - $39/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with a full range of drawing production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
• Modeling & Drafting: Develop detailed [Revit structural models] and construction drawing sets (plans, sections, details).
• Engineering Support: Interpret sketches, markups, and design calculations provided by engineers to create accurate drawings.
• Coordination: Collaborate with project teams, architects, and engineers to identify and resolve BIM model conflicts.
• Standards Compliance: Apply company and industry standards (e.g., BIM standards) to all deliverables.
• Document Management: Assist with organizing project documents, such as transmittals, PDFs, and shop drawing sets.
• Software: Proficiency in Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD is generally required.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of structural components and construction documents.
• Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into civil design and layouts.
• Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience

• Must Have Skills: Minimum 2 years of experience with civil/structural design projects.
• AutoCAD (Must Have), Revit or MicroStation or Civil 3D (Preferred).
• Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field and 2 years related experience Required OR Associate Degree and 3 years related experience Required OR 4 years progressive detailing and design experience.
• Basic understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables.
• Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
• Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of civil discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
