Security & Resilience Manager - 24/7 Cambridge Site

Location: On site / Cambridge, UK job type: Permanent / Full-time Sector and subsector: Security | General AnnualFixed salary: £ 43500.00 MAN Commercial Protection have an excellent opportunity for a Site Security Manager, based at Cambridge Science Park. This is a key role, with the successful Security Manager working closely with and engaging all stakeholders to aid in continuous improvement across the site, in addition to their ability to manage and motivate a 24/7 Security Team. The working pattern will be: 50 hours per week, Monday-Friday flexibility over seven days will be required in line with operational needs. Key responsibilities: To ensure that the service provided conforms to the Assignment Instructions and the Client's requirements. To manage the step change in requirements whilst providing solutions to mitigate the risks on site. To consistently deliver outstanding levels of service to the customer, stakeholders and colleagues through teamwork, transparency, and innovation. Ensure smooth and efficient management of the overall security operations as defined within the Assignment Instructions, ensuring all relevant operational information is accurately and effectively cascaded to the security team in a timely and efficient manner. Lead the full security and resilience portfolio, covering physical security, personnel security, cyber‑physical convergence, and information‑security advisory support. Develop and maintain a risk‑based, layered security model that protects sensitive assets while supporting collaboration across the campus. Monitor and assess emerging threats and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Drive the adoption of next‑generation technologies, such as AI‑enabled analytics, behavioural anomaly detection, autonomous patrols, biometric/zero‑trust access systems, and integrated cyber‑physical platforms. Serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and relevant threat‑sharing networks. Plan and deliver Special interest groups for tenants across the science park, toolbox talks, and simulations to test and strengthen security controls. Maintain a robust 24/7 incident response capability, prepared to manage incidents ranging from low‑level trespass to sophisticated targeted attempts. Manage a blended team of in‑house specialists and contracted partners, using KPIs to drive performance and continuous improvement. About You You are a proactive problem‑solver who is comfortable challenging established approaches. You can translate complex environments into clear, tailored risk assessments. You remain calm and decisive under pressure, with a steady, solutions‑focused mindset. You are committed to finding practical, effective ways to protect people, assets, and ideas without hindering innovation. Role Requirements: We require the Manager to motivate and lead the team to achieve excellent standards in security risk operations and customer service delivery. Excellent communication and IT skills; able to communicate with and engage senior stakeholders. Be experienced in managing a team to deliver a consistent standard of service for the customer; including managing welfare, disciplinary and development issues for the Officers on site. This is a licensed role which requires a valid SIA SG or DS License and CCTV License is also essential. Full UK driving licence essential – driving of site vehicle will be required.
