California Licensed MPL Underwriter

To support the growth of a Miscellaneous Professional Liability portfolio, the remote California Licensed MPL Underwriter will underwrite new and renewal business, manage broker relationships, and make informed risk selection and pricing decisions. Key responsibilities Underwrite new and renewal MPL business, evaluating exposures and pricing risks in accordance with guidelines Build and maintain relationships with broker partners to drive submission flow and enhance market presence Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine underwriting strategies and improve operational efficiency Required qualifications Experience underwriting Miscellaneous Professional Liability (MPL) or closely related specialty commercial insurance products Strong understanding of professional liability exposures, coverage forms, and risk selection Proven ability to develop and manage broker relationships and drive new business opportunities Analytical skills with a comfort in using technology and data for underwriting decisions Entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative approach to contribute to a growing insurance product
