Childcare Site Lead & Camp Sokkia Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:The Childcare Coordinator plays a key role in supporting high-quality programming across the Child Development Center, School Age Care, and Camp Sokkia. This position assists with daily operations, staff support, program implementation, and family engagement to ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all children. The coordinator will serve as the site lead at the DPS61 site located at the St. John’s Church during the school year, and as the Lead Counselor for Camp Sokkia during the summer. The coordinator works collaboratively with leadership to maintain compliance, enhance program quality, and support the YMCA’s mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Support daily operations of the Child Development Center, Child Watch, School Age Care, and Camp Sokkia programsHelp maintain compliance with all state licensing, safety, and YMCA standardsBuild positive relationships with children, families, and staffAssist in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activitiesSupport enrollment efforts, including tours, registrations, and family communicationWork with the program Director to monitor program quality and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvementStep into classroom or program coverage as needed to maintain appropriate ratiosAssist with special events, family engagement opportunities, and seasonal programming (including camp)Ensure proper documentation, record-keeping, and reporting requirements are metQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 2 years of experience in childcare, school-age programming, or camp settingKnowledge of state licensing requirements and best practices in youth developmentStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to build relationships and lead with a positive, team-oriented approachCPR/First Aid certification (we will provide if needed)WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, and evenings.Active role requiring standing, walking, and engaging with children throughout the dayOccasional travel between program sites may be required #J-18808-Ljbffr
