Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX.At Raytheon, the Effector RF Design Department is seeking a RF Subsystems Design Electrical Engineer to work with a variety of programs as a contributor to detailed design, simulation, product development, and initial product testing. The successful candidate will have educational experience and professional interest designing RF and Microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters. This role includes design, test, calibration and analysis activities that span preliminary design to integration. Products we develop support radar, datalink, and other RF applications on a variety of tactical missile programs. Critical to this role will be designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.All Candidates will work within a larger team at Raytheon. Candidates perform meaningful engineering tasks for their assigned projects and will also have access to a variety of career development opportunities. These include access to technical mentors and the ability to “shadow” experienced professionals in order to learn about real industry positions.What You Will Do:Support analysis, design, development, and integration of transmitters, receivers, exciters, radios, antennas, and radomes.Work in a lab to accomplish system characterization as well as module verification and integration of sensitive RF Hardware.Develop system level models of RF devices including radars, sensors, radios, and telemetersModel RF subcomponent non-idealities and predict upper-level system performance impactsPerform generic RF modeling including link budget, system sensitivity, and waveform designProvide engineering support through participation in project design reviews, peer reviews, briefings to internal leadership and external customers for all phases of development tasks.Qualifications You Must Have:Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.Electronics, electromagnetics, signal processing, and RF systems coursework.Coursework or Research experience with modeling and measurement of RF components or systems.Qualifications We Prefer:Demonstrable proficiency in fusion of research/analysis and measurement/validation of novel RF systemsExperience developing calibration/compensation methodologies for physical RF sensing devicesExperience with any of the following test equipment: Network Analyzer, RF Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Phase Noise Analyzer, RF IQ/Signal Analyzer, RF Power Meter, High-Frequency OscilloscopeExperience with any of the following tools: MATLAB, SystemVue, Genesys, MathCad, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and Advanced Design System Pathwave (ADS).What We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
