Offshore Control Room Operator (Subsea Experience Highly Desired)

Position Summary The Offshore Control Room Operator is responsible for overseeing and controlling production operations from the central control facility aboard an offshore installation. This role supports the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of hydrocarbon processing systems, utility equipment, and associated production infrastructure. The operator plays a key role in process monitoring, troubleshooting, production optimization, emergency response, and operational coordination with offshore personnel.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Process Monitoring

• Monitor and control production, utility, and process systems through integrated control systems.
• Maintain stable and efficient plant operations while ensuring adherence to established operating procedures.
• Identify, assess, and respond to process deviations, alarms, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Support start-up, shutdown, and operational transitions for production and utility systems.
• Monitor well performance and collect operational data to support production optimization activities.
• Track process performance indicators and communicate operational concerns to supervisory personnel.

Control Room Activities

• Maintain accurate shift logs and operational records.
• Conduct detailed shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations.
• Monitor communication systems, surveillance equipment, and operational control interfaces as required.
• Maintain records related to overrides, inhibits, and temporary control system modifications.
• Ensure timely reporting of operational events, equipment issues, and production impacts.

Maintenance Coordination

• Identify equipment reliability concerns and initiate maintenance requests.
• Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to support planned and corrective maintenance activities.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to create, track, and update work orders.
• Assist in prioritizing maintenance activities that affect safety-critical equipment and production systems.

Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies, environmental procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate actively in permit-to-work processes and ensure compliance with isolation and control procedures.
• Support environmental reporting requirements related to emissions, discharges, and operational incidents.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout offshore facilities.
• Contribute to risk assessments and operational safety initiatives.

Emergency Response

• Serve as an active member of the offshore emergency response organization.
• Participate in emergency drills, exercises, and preparedness training.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations in accordance with facility emergency response plans.
• Support incident management and recovery activities when required.

Training & Team Support

• Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new operations personnel.
• Deliver on-the-job training and knowledge sharing to less experienced team members.
• Participate in competency development programs and required technical training.
• Maintain required certifications and operational competence standards.
