Intern Masters Clinical

Brief Description Master's Clinical Internship at Isanti Schools Job Summary Fernbrook Family Center provides internships for Masters level students from the fields of Social Work, Psychology, Clinical Psychology, etc. Masters level student intern work done under the direct supervision of a qualified site supervisor from Fernbrook. All services provided by the Intern will be reviewed by the supervisor including written work (i.e. assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes) and interactions with clients. The student intern will engage in a variety of clinical and non-clinical activities related to their specific discipline and consistent with their individual learning requirements from their program. Supervisory Responsibilities Masters Level Interns are not responsible for the supervision of other employees. Duties And Responsibilities Provide psychotherapy and/or skills services to children, adults, and families Conduct diagnostic assessments to determine eligibility for services Complete all documentation according to content and quality standards Collaborate and consult with internal and external [JM1] providers Actively seek out supervisory consultation and direction as needed Complete mandatory trainings for skill maintenance or enhancement Regularly attend and engage in a way that meets your needs in staff meetings and group supervision. Communicate and reflect Fernbrook Family Center’s mission internally and externally Comply with agency policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities Ethical decision making skills Professional boundaries Ask for support as needed Ability to independently manage schedule and task deadlines. Ability to communicate with internal and external staff via written and verbal methods Ability to work in a variety of settings and environments independently and as part of a team Willingness to seek and apply direction and feedback Willingness to learn and expand clinical knowledge Proficient in usage of computer and basic software programs or willingness to learn Commitment to the core values and mission of Fernbrook Physical Demands Prolonged periods sitting, listening, and observing or working on a computer. Physical health and stamina to work on a consistent basis with children and adults who have varying needs. Occasional situations may occur where staff need to be able to lift up to 15 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Expected hours of work are flexible and generally occur between 7:00am – 7:00pm. Expected to travel to and from a client’s home, community settings, Fernbrook offices, and other locations. The number of hours will be dependent on internship requirements Interns are able to work up to 40 hours per week. Hours over 40 will need to be preapproved for overtime by supervisor. Education And Experience Applicants must be enrolled in a master's degree program related to Social Work, Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and other pertinent related fields Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements Preferred Education And Experience Experience working with children, adults, and families.
