Job Overview Centurion Health is the provider of mental health services to the Florida Department of Corrections and is seeking a full‑time Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team at Reception and Medical Center in Lake Butler, FL. The position requires completion of a U.S. psychiatry residency and offers a unique opportunity to practice in a large male correctional hospital and reception/outpatient psychiatric services. Responsibilities Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients. Work under supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director. Provide clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health services to patients with psychiatric or other mental health issues. Qualifications MD or DO with completion of U.S. accredited psychiatry residency program. Current license to practice medicine in Florida as a psychiatrist. Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry. Active DEA registration certificate. Current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification. Ability to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable. Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting (preferred). Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit (preferred). Shift Details Monday‑Friday, Day Shift. All full‑time Psychiatrists participate in rotational on‑call approximately every 6–8 weeks. On‑call lasts 7 days 24hours and is compensated above and beyond the guaranteed annual salary.
