Patient Contact Center Representative

Position Overview The Access Care Representative performs a wide variety of activities related to scheduling, registration, financial compliance, and customer support for all services performed. The Access Care areas act as the entry point. The representative promotes a caring, professional manner while collecting accurate and complete data necessary for billing and account processing. Primary Department: Physician Practice Operations, UHS Vestal Campus Primary Work Shift: Day Compensation Range: $17.05 - $22.17 per hour, depending on experience Eligibility: Eligible for benefits if hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours. Responsibilities Schedule and verify appointment details for patients and staff. Complete patient registration and verify insurance eligibility. Collect and verify accurate billing information. Provide customer support related to medical services and insurance. Maintain communications with patients and providers regarding scheduling, registration, and insurance updates. Process and submit financial compliance requests and documentation. Enter and update patient data in electronic health record systems. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent; preferred two years of experience in a medical environment with knowledge of insurance applicable to outpatient care. Computer and scheduling skills; knowledge of medical terminology. License/Certification: Not required; preferred Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA). Current driver’s license.
