Grant Funded Position? No Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
  1. Recruitment Strategy Development and Execution: o Develop andindependently execute recruitment strategies for targeted studentpopulations, including high school students, adult learners, andtransfer students. o Plan and implement recruiting events such ascollege fairs, high school visits, and campus tours. These effortswill be guided by overarching enrollment goals and universitypriorities set by the Executive Director. o Evaluate theeffectiveness of recruitment strategies within the assignedterritory and make necessary adjustments based on data andfeedback.
  2. Student Engagement and Support: o Engage directly withprospective students and their families to provide guidance on thecollege application process, academic programs, and financial aidopportunities. o Provide one-on-one and group advising sessions forstudents, helping them navigate the admissions process, identifyappropriate programs, and connect with necessary resources. o Serveas a trusted resource for students, offering ongoing supportthroughout the enrollment process to ensure they feel welcomed,informed, and prepared.
  3. Admissions Operations and Event Coordination: o Workingalongside the event coordinator-plan recruitment events withinassigned territory, including campus visits, open houses, andinformation sessions. o Review and assess application materials forcompleteness, ensuring timely processing of student applicationsand corresponding communications. o Coordinate with academicdepartments and other campus offices to ensure that recruitmentefforts align with institutional goals and meet studentneeds.
  4. Strategic Reporting and Data Analysis: o Collect and analyzedata related to admissions trends, student demographics, andrecruitment outcomes to evaluate and adjust recruitment strategieswithin assigned territory. o Regularly report on progress towardrecruitment goals, including analyzing application and yield rates,and presenting data to Admissions leadership fordecision-making.
  5. Professional Development: o Participate in professionaldevelopment opportunities, including attendance at conferences andworkshops, to stay current with trends in higher education,admissions practices, and student success strategies.
Admissions Counselor Requirements Experience in college admissions may be preferred. Familiarity with college and university programs, majors,admissions requirements and processes, and scholarship andfinancial aid resources. Excellent active listening, verbal and written communication, andinterpersonal skills. Strong planning and people reading skills. Ability to multitask and stay organized. Willingness to guide prospective students and families and provideongoing support as they make important decisions. Minimum Required Education Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Required Licenses and/or Certifications Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. Minimum Required Qualifications Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic recruitmentinitiatives. Strong organizational and time management skills, with theability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with student populations, includingnon-traditional students and those from underrepresentedbackgrounds. Knowledge of current trends in higher education admissions andstudent engagement. Ability to work independently and take initiative in developing solutions to recruitment challenges. Must be prepared to make frequent contact (inbound andoutbound) via telephone, text message, e-mail, and other means withstudents and parents as well as internal and external audiences. Must pass background screening for access to and working withinthe education field. Must be willing to travel. Excellent with public speaking and have refined presentationskills Able to coordinate multiple tasks and detailed events Able to communicate effectively with a wide range ofaudiences Excellent with organizational and planning skills Responsive to supervisor feedback and committed to continuousimprovement Prepared for frequent overnight travel as required includingevenings and weekend Able to rapidly acquire knowledge of admissions, curricula, andrecord policies & procedures. Willing to work independently as well as part of a team, and beaccountable for deadlines and goals within an assigned territory orspecific student population. Experienced and willing to work within a growth and changemindset A high achiever with excellent people skills Excel at initiating conversation with prospective students atcollege fairs and other events. Candidates with prior marketing, sales, or recruitmentexperience will receive priority consideration Key Competencies Strong leadership and team collaborationskills. Ability to mentor and guide junior team members. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strongpublic speaking and presentation skills. Proficiency in usingadmissions software and data management systems.
