Job Description

Qualifications:

• Full, current, and unrestricted state license to practice Radiologic Technology (any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia). Any current or past restricted, suspended, revoked, or voluntarily surrendered license disqualifies a candidate.

• ARRT certification in general radiologic technology (R) at minimum.

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience on the advanced modality being proposed, or the minimum number of cases for that procedure type.

• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.

• Must clear pre-assessment/on-site clinical skills evaluation and VA NJHCS Professional Standards Board, Medical Executive Board, and Medical Center Director credentialing/privileging approval before providing any services.

• New hires receive a two-week facility familiarization (protocols, SOPs, equipment) only - contractor techs are not trained by VA staff and must arrive fully proficient.

Shifts:

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST, 8-hr shift with unpaid 30-min break, Monday-Friday

Day shift / full-time; occasional pre-approved overtime at Chief DRT's discretion; staff may be scheduled on federal holidays

Duties: Ultrasound / Sonography

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certificate from ARRDMS (abdomen, OB/GYN, and/or breast, depending on services provided).

• Experience with abdomen/retroperitoneum, small parts, gynecology, male pelvis, obstetrics, vascular imaging, breast sonography, and breast biopsies.
