Job Title: Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required. License: Valid state license required. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, AHA certifications required. Must-Have: EPIC experience is required. Proficient in IV starts and telemetry. Competency with ventilators. Description: The Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse provides specialized care for critically ill patients. This role involves managing complex medical conditions, including multisystem organ failure and respiratory failure. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Patient care ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:2 depending on shift. The position requires experience with ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Candidates should have experience in specialized areas such as COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure. The nurse is expected to float to different units within the organization as needed. Previous travel nursing experience is preferred. Continuous glucose monitoring and externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients are specific procedures in this unit. Candidates must provide two professional references, with one from a managerial role. This position is for RNs who have graduated from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program. A commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork is essential.
