Male Caregiver with experience in Dementia This position provides in-home care and assistance to elderly individuals in the Encino, CA and San Fernando Valley areas. The duties include companionship, light housekeeping duties, transportation, meal preparation, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, toileting, dressing, etc. Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this role is $18 to $20 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include accrued paid sick days, flexible hours, career advancement training, and caregiver appreciation activities. Responsibilities Companionship and conversation Light housekeeping duties Apparel selection (laying out clothes) Household management Errands Meal planning and preparation Laundry and linen changing Medication reminders Transportation and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, toileting, and mobility Preparation of sleeping area for overnight situations Documenting activities in the Care Plan Binder Recording daily hours worked and daily services performed Reporting any significant changes with client to office immediately Following all policies and procedures as described in the Senior Helpers Handbook Qualifications Must treat clients with dignity and respect Must be able to read, write and speak English at an average adult level Must be willing to submit to background check per California state law Must obtain TB testing prior to engaging with clients Must be able to drive and have a valid CA driver's license Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted This position is open to all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, disability, military status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other non-job-related characteristics protected by applicable federal or state law.
