Role Description The Arborist role at The Tree Guy St George is a full-time, on-site position based in La Verkin, UT. The Arborist will perform daily tasks such as assessing tree health, identifying tree species, and recommending appropriate care, maintenance, or removal. Responsibilities include pruning and trimming trees, performing safe removals, assisting with tree planting, and providing palm care as needed. The Arborist will operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, climbing gear, and other equipment in compliance with safety standards. The role also involves working with team members on job planning, maintaining clean and safe work sites, and communicating clearly with customers about services and recommendations.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Knowledge of arboriculture and practical experience working with trees in residential or commercial settings.
- Skills in forestry practices and tree identification across common regional species.
- Certified Arborist credential (ISA or equivalent) or a strong willingness to pursue certification within a defined timeframe.
- Ability to assess tree structure, health, and risk and recommend appropriate care or removal strategies.
- Experience with safe operation of chainsaws, chippers, climbing systems, and other tree care equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety, including use of PPE, adherence to industry standards, and safe work practices at height and around utilities.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including lifting, climbing, and extended periods on your feet.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with crew members and customers.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.
- Prior experience in tree care, landscaping, or related outdoor trades is preferred but not strictly required for highly motivated learners.
