Contract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (18:45-07:15) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Cardiac Telemetry unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, cardiomyopathies, valvular conditions, and vascular disorders
• Monitor and manage patients post-procedure, including post-cath, post-DCCV, post-electrophysiology procedures, and pacemaker placements
• Operate and interpret specialized equipment including EKG, arterial lines, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, chest tubes, Doppler, bladder scanner, and epicardial pacing wires
• Document using EPIC, administer medications via Pyxis, and communicate using SBAR methodology
• Float to other units as needed and provide weekend coverage (expected 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period); holidays are required
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will apply

• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Stepdown settings preferred
• Familiarity with CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), VATS, carotid endarterectomy, and other cardiac or thoracic surgical post-operative care
• First-time travelers are welcome provided the 2-year cardiac experience requirement is met
