Responsibilities

• Support and lead civil engineering design efforts for public works and infrastructure projects.

• Prepare engineering plans and specifications.

• Perform engineering calculations.

• Work on bridge and roadway improvements.

• Perform storm drainage and drainage design.

• Support water and wastewater projects.

• Perform site development design, including grading, utilities, roadway layout, and permitting support.

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.

• Address stormwater management and regulatory compliance requirements.

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and CAD staff.

• Attend project meetings.

• Communicate design requirements with clients and regulatory agencies.

• Conduct field visits and construction observation.

• Assist with construction administration.

• Review project submittals.

• Perform quality control checks and plan reviews.

• Ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and project requirements.

• Maintain accurate project documentation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design for public works and infrastructure projects.

• Experience with highway or bridge design, Stormwater Management, including drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and regulatory compliance.

• Skills in Site Development, such as grading, utilities, roadway layout, and permitting support.

• Commitment to Quality Control, including plan reviews, adherence to design standards, and accurate documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

• EIT or PE licensure in Connecticut (or ability to obtain) preferred.

• Familiarity with relevant design software, including AutoCAD/Civil 3D, stormwater modeling tools, and Microsoft Office.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team setting.

• Ability to conduct occasional field work, including site visits and construction observation.

• Must maintain a valid driver's license.
