Mental Health Registered Nurse – Days The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place in Williamsburg, Virginia is hiring registered nurses for day shifts (7am-7pm). New graduates are welcome. Compensation & Benefits $45-50 base pay + shift differentials $5,000 sign‑on bonus Complimentary continued education and $3,000 per year tuition assistance Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days Flex pay – daily pay option PTO package Purpose Statement The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients, supervises care treatment and services of LPNs, CNAs, and other staff on the assigned unit and shift, and develops, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care for each patient. Roles and Responsibilities Assesses physical and behavioral health needs of patients, develops and implements nursing care plans, maintains medical records, and educates patients and families. Communicates findings to providers timely and maintains nursing treatment plans. Obtains provider orders accurately and documents appropriately. Administrates medications per order using at least two patient identifiers. Notifies providers of significant status changes such as medical emergencies or lab results. Documents PRN medication effects. Maintains accountability for medication administration and security, including narcotics. Completes admission and discharge processes efficiently. Collaborates with the treatment team and attends unit activities such as therapy groups and family meetings. Provides education about medication usage, side effects, patient rights, etc. Monitors patient acuity, census, staffing needs, and escalates coverage requirements. Ensures thorough and accurate documentation and completes patient assignment sheets daily. Communicates thorough hand‑off reports to oncoming staff and supervisors. Education, Experience, and Skills Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing. One or more years of nursing experience within the clinical area of service preferred. Experience in a behavioral health, psychiatric, or addiction recovery environment preferred. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures. Ability to apply nursing standards and practice in an acute psychiatric setting. Licenses, Designations, and Certifications Valid current RN license from the state or from a compact state, where applicable. Certified in Psychiatric Nursing preferred. CPR and de‑escalation/ restraint certification required; training available on hire. First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements. Work Location This position is onsite at the facility and is not a remote position. Supervisory Responsibility This position is an individual contributor.
