The Role

We are hiring our first senior finance leader to build the financial operating system that will take Loman through its next stage of growth.

You will own finance end to end: forecasting, budgeting, accounting oversight, cash management, board reporting, fundraising support, financial systems, controls, and strategic decision support.

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage an established finance department. You will inherit outside partners and existing processes, but you will be responsible for turning them into an investor-grade finance function.

You will be equally comfortable building a board model, reviewing the monthly close, analyzing gross margin by customer segment, negotiating a major vendor contract, and telling the CEO where the plan is wrong.

The right person is a strategic finance leader and a hands‑on operator. You build the model, not just review it.

What You’ll Own

Financial Planning and Strategy

• Own the company’s financial model, annual plan, rolling forecast, and long-range planning
• Maintain real‑time visibility into revenue, expenses, cash, burn, runway, and hiring capacity
• Build scenario models that help leadership make faster decisions about growth, pricing, hiring, and capital allocation
• Establish clear operating targets and hold teams accountable to budgets and financial outcomes
• Develop a strong point of view on the financial tradeoffs behind company strategy

SaaS Metrics and Unit Economics

• Create a single source of truth for ARR, MRR, retention, expansion, churn, CAC, payback, gross margin, and burn efficiency
• Analyze unit economics by customer segment, restaurant type, acquisition channel, product, and location count
• Build visibility into telephony, AI infrastructure, payment, onboarding, support, and integration costs
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to improve pricing, packaging, margins, and capital efficiency
• Translate financial and operating data into clear recommendations for the leadership team

Accounting and Financial Operations

• Own the quality and timeliness of the monthly close
• Oversee accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax, insurance, and outside finance partners
• Build scalable controls, approval processes, purchasing policies, and expense management systems
• Ensure revenue recognition, commissions, deferred revenue, and customer contracts are handled accurately
• Prepare the company for audits, diligence, and increasing reporting complexity
• Know when to bring work in‑house and when outside specialists are the better answer

Fundraising, Board, and Investor Reporting

• Lead the financial preparation for future fundraising processes
• Own the data room, financial diligence, investor requests, scenario analysis, and supporting materials
• Prepare board reporting and help turn operating results into a clear financial narrative
• Maintain accurate investor reporting and support the CEO in investor and board communications
• Manage the cap table, option planning, 409A process, and equity administration with legal and external partners

Business Partnership

• Act as a direct strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team
• Bring financial rigor to hiring, compensation, pricing, enterprise deals, vendor negotiations, and new initiatives
• Help functional leaders understand their numbers and make better resource‑allocation decisions
• Identify financial and operational risks before they become company problems
• Build a culture where teams understand the economic impact of their decisions

Systems and Team

• Design the finance technology stack and automate repetitive finance workflows
• Improve data quality across finance, CRM, billing, payroll, banking, and operating systems
• Build dashboards that give leadership clear, current visibility into company performance
• Determine the right finance team structure as Loman scales
• Recruit and develop a high‑performing internal finance organization over time

What Success Looks Like

Within 90 Days

• You have rebuilt or fully validated the company’s operating model
• Leadership has reliable weekly visibility into cash, burn, runway, revenue, and plan performance
• The monthly close is accurate, documented, and delivered on a consistent schedule
• Company metrics have clear definitions and a trusted source of truth
• Department leaders understand their budgets and financial responsibilities
• You have identified the highest‑priority gaps in controls, systems, reporting, and finance operations

Within 12 Months

• Loman has an investor‑grade finance function ready for its next fundraising process
• Forecasts are accurate enough to drive hiring and capital‑allocation decisions
• Board reporting clearly connects financial results, operating drivers, risks, and company strategy
• Gross margin and unit economics are visible at the level needed to improve them
• Finance has become a strategic advantage for the company, not a reporting function
• You have built the systems and team required for Loman’s next stage of scale

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive experience across strategic finance, FP&A, accounting, investment banking, private equity, or related roles
• Meaningful experience inside a venture‑backed B2B SaaS or technology company
• Experience building or significantly upgrading a finance function at a Seed through Series B company
• Direct experience supporting at least one institutional fundraising or major financing process
• Advanced financial modeling skills and deep fluency in SaaS metrics
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting operations, controls, and cash management
• Experience preparing board materials and communicating with investors
• Ability to turn messy operational data into clear financial insight
• High ownership, strong judgment, and extreme attention to detail
• Direct communication style and willingness to challenge assumptions
• Comfortable moving between strategic work and hands‑on execution without waiting for a larger team
