Social Media Specialist

The Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC) is seeking a creative, strategic, and highly collaborative full-time Social Media Specialist to join our award-winning team. In this role, you will centralize our digital storytelling in-house, bringing our core community initiatives—including economic development, real estate, and public spaces—to life. You will own our social media content calendar, design engaging graphics, capture photo and video content on the ground, and run tailored social-media campaigns across Meta and LinkedIn to spotlight local businesses and engage corporate partners. Core Responsibilities Develop and manage the social media content calendar Create, schedule, and publish content across all platforms while tracking analytics Design graphics, shoot videos, reels, and stories, and write engaging captions Capture photos and videos at events, ribbon cuttings, and community activities Conduct interviews and gather testimonials from community members and partners Support email marketing, newsletters, press releases, and website updates Collaborate with internal teams and coordinate with external creative vendors Required Experience and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, Graphic Design, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum of 2 years of experience managing social media and digital communications Experience creating content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms Strong photography and videography skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events Preferred experience in nonprofits, website management, email marketing, and analytics tools Compensation and Benefits Salary range of $40,000 to $45,000 commensurate with experience Hybrid work schedule 20 days of paid leave per calendar year At least 10 office closing days for public holidays Up to 10 remote workdays while traveling Generous benefits package and parental leave 401(k) employer match Professional development opportunities and phone reimbursement #J-18808-Ljbffr Choose901
