COOK, Nutrition Services - Full Time

Cook Position

This Cook position is full time, offers full benefits and a convenient evening shift schedule. This dynamic individual will be under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties. The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes.

Job duties/responsibilities include determining types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies. The cook will also determine foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and use a list to communicate to Director/Supervisor. Additionally, the cook will assist in putting foods/supplies away appropriately in designated storage areas after delivery. The cook prepares all foods according to approved recipes and to suitable appearance standards while using garnishes when appropriate. Meals are ensured to be ready at specified times and the cook consults with director/supervisor regarding use of leftover food.

Qualifications for the Cook position include one to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. A high school graduate or equivalent is required. ServSafe Certification is preferred within six months of hire.
