Job Description:\n\nSalary: $24 - $26 hourly, DOE Analytical Resource Laboratories (ARL) is a third-party contract laboratory specializing in microbiological and chemical testing of food, cosmetics, and dietary supplements. ARL has been offering analytical testing services for 23 years. We are looking for a team member with a background in analytical chemistry, microbiology, biophysics, or a closely related field, who is highly motivated, has greatdesire to learn, a quick learner, competent, meticulous, tech-savvy with excellent communication and organizational skills,personable, and proactive individual who is willing to wear multiples hats and embrace a "can-do" attitude to join our laboratory. Our team is seeking a team player who can thrive in a fast-paced and high pressured work environment to join our robust, hardworking, intelligent, responsible, adaptive, positive, accountable, and amazing team!The successful candidate has the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressured work environment.This is an excellent entry-level position for graduates in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field who wish to gain valuable experience and cultivate industry knowledge and skills in a third-party laboratory industry. Position Overview Under the direction of a Team Lead and/or the Laboratory Manager, the Chemistry Lab Technician II supports laboratory operations by performing routine laboratory testing and assisting with method validation activities. This role is designed for a technically proficient laboratory professional who ensures accurate data generation, regulatory compliance, and timely completion of testing activities in a fast-paced, regulated laboratory environment. Responsibilities Laboratory Testing & Technical OperationsConduct routine laboratory preparation and testing of samples in accordance with ARL SOPs and written instructions in a timely manner using approved techniques with minimal supervision Perform all other duties and projects as assigned by ARL leadershipEnsure testing and projects are completed on or before due datesAssist with method validation and method verification activities Sample and Chemical Handling & IdentificationClassify and label samples and chemicals according to established protocolsMaintain accountability and traceability for sample integrity throughout the testing lifecycle Documentation, Data Analysis & ReportingDocument method/batch supplies, equipment, prep, observations, and data in laboratory log books or notebooks per ARL requirementsIdentify and assist in investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) resultsEnsure data integrity and traceability across all documentation Communicate testing status, issues, and results with managementReview analytical data within the set time expectations Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant laboratory records and documentation in accordance with ARL and regulatory standardsProcess, calculate, record, and report analytical data and related findings correctly in LIMS or laboratory documents Quality Assurance & Regulatory ComplianceComply with all laboratory quality control and quality assurance requirementsSupport in deviation investigations and corrective actionsHelp ensure audit readiness and laboratory compliance with relevant regulations and standards at all levelsAdhere to all GLP, GMP, ISO, and relevant regulations applicable to job dutiesParticipate in quality audits and inspections as assigned Laboratory Housekeeping, Safety & Waste ManagementFollow established lab safety protocols, especially when it comes to PPE and handling/storing chemicals and wasteProvide support for lab-specific waste managementComply with all ARL workplace health, safety, and environmental regulationsMaintain laboratory cleanliness at all times, including workspaces and equipment Training, Competency & Professional DevelopmentSuccessfully complete all required training, including skills assessments and proficiency testingStay informed of current industry trends, techniques, and best practices Leadership, Collaboration & AccountabilityEffectively prioritizing work independently and portraying increased ownership of assigned laboratory operationsAssist with SOPs, protocols, excel, and work instruction creation and revisions under supervisionCommunicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding testing/instrumentation status and challenges Demonstrate accountability for proper laboratory practices and exhibit problem solving initiativeReport work progress and testing readiness to managementMay supervise or help train team members, if assigned Job Requirements & Expectations Workplace & Professional ExpectationsCommunicate professionally and effectively with clients, team members, and leadershipContribute to a positive, ethical, and team-oriented work environmentDemonstrate reliability, professionalism, and accountabilityRepresent ARL professionally in appearance, conduct, and communicationRemain calm, focused, and effective under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environmentWork efficiently both independently and as part of a cross-functional teamDemonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills Scheduling & AvailabilityAvailable to work five (5) days per week, including weekends as neededAbility to meet changing scheduling demands based on sample loadAdhere to ARL attendance, scheduling, and time-off requirements Physical & Compliance RequirementsAble to lift at least 50 poundsWilling to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredAbility to pass background check and drug testingAdhere to ARL drug-free workplace, attendance, and time-off policies Technical & System ExpectationsCompetency in industry-related laboratory techniques and proceduresWorking knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and laboratory equipment Hiring Requirements & Qualifications Education & BackgroundBachelors degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related scientific field or equivalent experience in industry performing analytical QC testing.
