Accounts Receivable Supervisor

Location: Mitchell Companies – Meridian, MS
Reports To: Controller

At Mitchell Companies, our Accounts Receivable team plays a critical role in keeping our operation moving. We're looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Supervisor who can lead a team, improve processes, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our receivables function.

This is more than a collections role. You'll be responsible for helping drive cash flow, supporting financial reporting, partnering with multiple departments, and developing a team that delivers accurate and timely results every day. What You'll Do

As our Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of the AR function while serving as a key partner to Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting. Responsibilities include:

• Leading, developing, and supporting Accounts Receivable team members
• Monitoring daily AR activity to ensure accuracy and timely processing
• Overseeing customer billing, supplier invoicing, and account statements
• Reviewing aging reports and helping resolve delinquent accounts
• Investigating billing discrepancies, deductions, chargebacks, and account concerns
• Preparing reporting and metrics related to collections, aging, and cash flow
• Participating in credit reviews and risk management discussions
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, and efficiency
• Building positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards, including GAAP

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with proven leadership ability.

Preferred qualifications include:

• 5+ years of Accounts Receivable, Collections, or related accounting experience
• Prior experience leading or supervising a team
• Strong understanding of receivables processes, credit management, and collections
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP or accounting systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Confidence handling difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism and customer relationships
