At BlueOval Battery Park Michigan, you will... - use your entrepreneurial skills and team mindset to come up with data-driven solutions - build and lead an agile team to deliver the advanced technology that drives the future - create a culture of trust, encourage diversity of thought and foster leadership in others - be part of the historic transformation of the automotive industry.What you’ll do…Provide technical direction, execution, and oversight of tasks required for the design, development, and installation of production equipment and processes.Plan, design, develop, and implement assembly and test processes for new and existing products to ensure a flawless launch.Utilize lean methodologies and statistical analysis to ensure long-term capability and stability of new manufacturing equipment.Perform Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/A) activities for both existing and new technologies.Develop processes focused on improving yield, throughput, and ergonomics while driving scrap reduction and error-proofing.Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with PLCs, motors, sensors, wiring, robots, frequency converters, and servos.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill all manufacturing engineering requirements, including PFMEA, DFMA, flow charts, and control plans.Manage projects including equipment acquisition, system documentation, vendor selection, and operator training.Lead problem-solving activities such as 8D investigations and Six Sigma projects related to manufacturing issues.Coordinate the installation and validation of new equipment at manufacturing sites.Maintain awareness of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies and evaluate their relevance to business needs.Candidates must possess full flexibility and a readiness to consistently work across all established standard, operating, and rotational shift schedules, encompassing day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.You’ll have...Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, including assembly operations.Strong experience in developing foundation documents (DFMEA, P-Diagram, B-Diagram, etc.).Proficiency in CAD design software and engineering tools.Ability to manage manufacturing projects using Program and Project Management methodologies.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Ability to work various shifts and hours, including weekends, to support launch and production requirements.Even better, you may have...Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, or Mechanical).Lean Six Sigma Certification.Advanced knowledge of laser welding processes, materials, and technologies.Experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).General knowledge of metal machining/grinding processes and NC machine programming. This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
