Medical Laboratory Scientist - Providence Kodiak Island

Job Overview Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist Location: Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center, Kodiak, AK Schedule: Full‑time, 0.9 FTE, 12‑hour variable shifts, 40 hrs per week. Responsibilities The Medical Technologist conducts clinical diagnostic testing on inpatients, outpatients, and residents, including blood draws, specimen collection, and therapeutic phlebotomy. Performs quality control procedures on patient tests and laboratory equipment to ensure accurate diagnostic testing. Reports patient data to the medical record and/or medical staff when results warrant direct contact. Required Qualifications Education that meets certification, license, or registration requirement. Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or Within 1 year of hire: National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists, or Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or Within 1 year of hire: National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts Preferred Qualifications 2 years work experience in a clinical laboratory.
