What You'll Do

• Take comprehensive patient histories and perform physical exams in a trauma setting
• Make assessments and diagnoses based on clinical findings
• Initiate, review, and revise treatment and therapy plans within regulatory guidelines
• Order labs, imaging, and therapeutic procedures as needed
• Recognize urgent situations calling for immediate physician intervention
• Counsel patients on health matters, including medications, social habits, and disease management
• Assist in patient admissions, documentation, and ongoing care plans
• Coordinate referrals to specialized community resources and facilities
• Act as a surgical first or second assistant, including robotic-assisted surgeries (additional documentation and training required)
• Perform procedures such as local anesthesia, wound debridement, fracture management, and central line insertions

What You Need

• Active California Nurse Practitioner license
• BLS certification
• Trauma or Critical Care experience preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment
• Prior surgical assisting experience or completion of training/coursework for surgical support roles (preferred)

About the Assignment

Join a high-volume trauma service in Redding, CA, supporting one trauma surgeon and a dedicated team of trauma APPs. The facility handles approximately 2025 ICU patients daily, with minimal pediatric cases.
