Overview Job DescriptionPosition Title: Environmental PermitterPay Status: Full TimeReports to: Fairweather Science Senior StaffFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummary:Project Scientist / Environmental Permitter on a variety of projects related to environmental permitting and compliance. Reports directly to Senior staff but expected to operate independently and as part of a project delivery team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide support and solutions for a wide variety of industry, agency, and corporate clientsParticipate in and/or lead permitting projectsSupport projects from inception through completion including proposal writing, budget tracking, and project closeoutWork closely with clients, staff, and regulators to develop reasonable solutions and to grow our businessEnsure that projects are done in compliance with applicable regulations and client expectationsEffective and professional communication with supervisors, team members, and clientsSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesMust be self-directed and motivated, and will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and objectives with limited oversightMust be safety conscious at all timesMust have working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, policies, and procedures and be proficient in working with environmental permits and regulationsProficient in Windows-based computer skills, including Microsoft Office SuiteExperience using GIS as part of regulatory permitting desiredStrong technical writing skills and organizationMinimum Qualifications:Must possess a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related fieldMust have 4+ years of experience in the environmental and/or regulatory fieldsMust possess a valid driver's licenseWorking Conditions:Office based position located in Anchorage, Alaska.Full-time position with regular business hours; availability for overtime based on project timelines and international clients necessary.Disclaimer:The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
