New Alternatives for Children, Inc. (NAC) is an award-winning not-for-profit agency dedicated to serving children and families with medical complexities, chronic illnesses, and disabilities throughout the five boroughs. To assist in achieving this mission, NAC is currently seeking a Quality Improvement Associate to join its Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance (QI) Department.

The Quality Improvement (QI) Associate Per Diem will support the Quality Improvement Department in maintaining program compliance, completing required audits, and assisting with data tracking and reporting during a temporary staff leave. Under the supervision of QI leadership, the Per Diem staff will assist with chart reviews, audit preparation, and data analysis to ensure compliance with federal, state, and city regulations while supporting continuous quality improvement efforts across NAC programs. This position is primarily remote with flexibility for occasional in-office work as needed. Participation in weekly supervision and periodic team meetings is expected.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct structured case record/chart reviews across assigned programs, including Foster Care using agency audit tools to assess compliance with regulatory and program requirements.
• Document findings, identify trends, and elevate areas requiring corrective action to Quality Improvement leadership and relevant program staff.
• Compile and organize review results using Excel and agency systems and assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly reports that summarize trends, performance indicators, and compliance findings.
• Maintain knowledge of and utilize systems such as Connections, Evolv, Data Warehouse, and Safe Measures for case review, data tracking, and reporting purposes.
• Assist staff with troubleshooting documentation and system-related questions, as needed, in support of accurate and timely compliance documentation.
• Perform additional temporary coverage duties and special projects assigned based on departmental needs.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, Public Health, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in foster care, child welfare, healthcare, or a related human services setting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.
• Prior Quality Improvement, audit, or compliance experience (preferred).

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with Connections, Evolv, and other child welfare data systems (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review documentation for accuracy and compliance.
