Backend Developer
Own backend systems that power our AI voice agent — API and service design, integrations, and production stability. Work closely with founders and engineering to ship features end-to-end and improve reliability as we scale.
Loman AI is transforming how restaurants handle phone calls with an AI-powered voice platform built specifically for the restaurant industry. Our technology answers calls 24/7, takes orders, books reservations, answers menu questions, and integrates directly with restaurant POS and reservation systems to create a seamless guest experience. By eliminating missed calls and hold times, Loman helps restaurants increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and deliver better hospitality at scale. We're building one of the most advanced voice AI products in hospitality and partnering with restaurants ranging from independent operators to large multi-unit brands. Our team combines deep expertise in AI, SaaS, and restaurant technology with a fast-moving startup culture focused on innovation, execution, and customer impact. Role Overview
You will own backend systems that power our AI voice agent. This includes API and service design, integrations with external systems, and production stability. You will work closely with the founders and engineering team to ship features end-to-end and improve reliability as the platform scales.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs
- Implement integrations with POS, reservation, payments, and voice transcription providers
- Improve system reliability, performance, and monitoring as customer volume grows
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 4+ years of professional experience with software development
- Experience with RESTful API development and integration
- Experience with SQL databases
- Proficiency with systems design principles
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Track record of feature ownership and bringing projects to production
- Experience building applications with LLMs or generative AI models
- Experience with cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience integrating with restaurant POS systems (Toast, Square, Clover, or similar)
- Experience integrating with voice transcription API services
- Experience with LLM agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LangGraph)
- Background in human-AI interaction or conversational UX
