Star Nursing has an Urgent Need for a Clinical Pharmacist - Maricopa County, AZ We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to serve at the Lower Buckeye Jail Administrative Office in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is a 6‑month work order commitment and requires one clinical pharmacist opening. Key Details Facility: Lower Buckeye Jail Administrative Office Location: Phoenix, Arizona Schedule: Monday‑Friday | 8 hour shifts Commitment: 6‑Month Work Order Commitment (WOC) Opening: 1 Clinical Pharmacist Opening Pay Rate Local: $68/hr Travel with housing: $58/hr Travel no housing: $27/hr + $1,720 per week (non‑taxable) Service Description The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for assessing the appropriateness and completeness of prescriptions and medication orders within a correctional healthcare setting. This position monitors drug therapy by evaluating patient medical histories, clinically significant drug interactions, adverse reactions, therapeutic duplications, dosage appropriateness, and compliance with prescribed treatment plans. The Clinical Pharmacist collaborates closely with medical staff, manages formulary development and maintenance, recommends therapeutic alternatives, and provides medication‑related education and presentations to executive and clinical leadership. Responsibilities and Duties Review and evaluate medication orders for appropriateness and accuracy Monitor patient drug therapy and identify potential drug interactions Assess adverse drug reactions and therapeutic duplications Recommend therapeutic interchanges and medication alternatives Participate in formulary evaluation, expansion, and daily management Collaborate with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Provide medication consultations and clinical recommendations Present medication‑related education to executive and clinical staff Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and standards Maintain accurate and timely documentation Supporting Documentation and Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited program by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education Copy of diploma and/or transcripts supporting PharmD degree completion Current, valid, unrestricted Pharmacist license issued by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy Current completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) through the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy: Minimum one year of Clinical Pharmacist experience PGY1 Pharmacy Residency preferred Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required Benefits Dedicated recruitment team to assist throughout your placement Weekly pay and flexible scheduling options Access to a network of healthcare facilities nationwide Hotel discounts and referral programs Continuing education resources Healthcues membership for additional wellness support (this does not replace existing medical plans) Maricopa County Mandatory Compliance Requirements Step #1 – Security and Background Clearance Complete MCSO Application for Courtesy Identification Sign PREA Acknowledgement (Zero Tolerance Policy) Submit to Criminal History and Warrants Check Complete Fingerprinting appointment with Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Must be at least 18 years of age No sexually related offenses Minimum one year since completion of probation, parole, or incarceration No driver’s license suspension within the past year Must disclose if a known person is incarcerated within the jail system Step #2 – Health and Immunization Requirements Current TB test (Skin test, QuantiFERON, T‑Spot, or Chest X‑Ray) Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination MMR vaccination documentation or titer Varicella vaccination documentation, titer, or attestation of past infection American Heart Association BLS/CPR (In‑Person) Step #3 – Physical and Workplace Requirements Ability to perform CPR chest compressions Ability to lift up to 35 pounds Ability to push equipment and climb stairs Commitment to assigned schedule for the duration of the contract Signed Drug‑Free Workplace Attestation Signed Physical Performance Attestation Step #4 – Additional Requirements Compliance with jail dress code and prohibited item policy No personal cell phones or smart devices allowed in secure areas Badge must be worn at all times once issued ASRS Retirement disclosure if applicable All onboarding documentation must be submitted at least 10 working days prior to start date #J-18808-Ljbffr
