Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care

Night shift: 1845 to 0715

Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours. No call.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care nursing within the last year.
• Active state nursing license required by the start of the assignment.
• General Certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS preferred, current PALS preferred, NIHSS certification preferred.
• Telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading experience required.
• Equipment used includes Meditech charting, Pyxis for medications, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Will float to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips.
• Perform fingerstick blood glucose testing as needed.
• Coordinate patient care with other healthcare team members.
• Document patient assessments and care plans in the electronic medical record.
