We are recruiting for the following position:The physician is part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to Sea Mar patients. Sea Mar is an advocate for its clients and aims to achieve industry-leading, client-centered, culturally-aware services.Sea Mar employees serve as an extension of this mission and demonstrate their commitment to an excellent client experience by:Understanding and empathizing with client needsSurpassing client expectationsDemonstrating a high level of integrityExhibiting compassion and commitmentAdvocating for social justiceTaking pride in individual work as well as that of the teamContinually learning to stay current with industry standards, best practices, and technologyAs a Sea Mar employee, the individual in this position commits to adherence to these values to their utmost ability and endeavors to strengthen and embody this mission daily.Essential Duties and/or ResponsibilitiesThe physician provides primary medical care services to patients of Sea Mar Community Health Centers in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance, and licensure in a manner consistent with guidelines established in the principles of practice at Sea Mar and its mission statement.The physician will provide appropriate hospital and institutional care as required.The physician may refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary.The physician prescribes and/or dispenses required medication to patients according to the individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board.The physician participates in organizing and directing preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection, and disease prevention activities, including educational programs for patients and community groups in the service areas with approval from the Medical Director and/or Health Center Administrator.The physician is expected to participate in clinical affairs, working with administrative personnel, the Medical Director, and the Chief Medical Officer to improve the patient care experience.The physician provides care for special groups of patients such as those in nursing homes or other institutions when appropriate.QualificationsKnowledge or an interest in the unique cultural aspects of the Hispanic people is needed.Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Medical ScreeningBasic EducationLicensed M.D or D.O.Additional RequirementsPre-hire and annual employee health screening requiredAnnual influenza vaccine required. Only exception is for employees with a medical or religious exemption approved by Administration. Employees with an approved medical or religious exemption must wear a mask at all time during the flu season.Minimal Formal TrainingSuccessful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved post-graduate residency; board certification in the appropriate specialty or actively seeking board certification.Applicant must be board certified within five (5) years of residency completion.A current DEA certificate is required if applicant is requesting privileges to prescribe controlled substances.This position must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.A current NRP certificate is required if applicant is requesting OB privileges.Additional education may be required for some specialty areas (orthopedics, etc.).Supervision Job RelationshipSupervised by: the Chief Medical Officer; the Medical Director; and the Health Center Administrator or delegated administrator as appropriate.The physician is evaluated on a yearly basis by staff, peers, the Medical Director, the Chief Medical Officer, and the Health Center Administrator.Employees Supervised: The physician provides clinical supervision to the assigned staff of nurses and other professionals.Interrelationships: The physician works closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director, and the Executive Director to realize the programmatic goals of the organization.Salary - Salary Plan, 216,018.00 USD AnnualWhat We Offer:Sea Mar offers talented and motivated people the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing community health organization.
