Description:
The Occupational Therapist I/II / Advanced Occupational Therapist I/II position serves to provide quality occupational therapy services.
This role focuses on the rehabilitation of patients with developmental, cognitive, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.
The therapist will plan and administer medically prescribed occupational therapy.
Responsibilities include assessing and interpreting evaluation and test results for patients across all ages.
The therapist determines treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
Setting realistic treatment goals based on the patient's abilities, needs, and evaluation findings is required.
Documentation in electronic health records is essential.
The therapist will evaluate patient progress by observing and noting results.
Recommendations and adjustments to therapy plans will be made as necessary.
Promoting maximum independence through personalized therapies is a critical responsibility.
Maintaining operation and organization of the Occupational Therapy program for outpatients and inpatients is expected.
The therapist will document patient care services accurately.
Provision of specialty services includes custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitive treatment, and activities of daily living.
The role may involve specialty clinics depending on location, including clinics for spinal cord treatment and geriatrics.
Assistance with the development of the occupational therapy service, including quality improvement and safety protocols, is required.
Compliance with occupational therapy certification requirements and procedures is mandatory.
The therapist must adhere to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and profession's Scope of Practice.
Training and in-service education for students and staff will be part of the duties.
Consultation with rehabilitation teams and other healthcare professionals is expected.
Maintaining Medical Staff Credentialing Core Privileges is a necessary aspect of the role.
