Registered Nurse – Emergency Room / Observation Unit (Level 3)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift Schedules including Days, Evenings, Nights, On Call, Call Back, Charge, Holidays, and Weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced Observation unit that turns over 20–27 patients per day with an average length of stay of 27 hours
• Monitor and assess patients to determine whether their condition warrants hospital admission or safe discharge
• Care for a diverse adult population including both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients ranging from short stay to full admissions
• Collaborate with 24/7 provider coverage team to coordinate patient care and treatment plans
• Float across designated units as required, adapting to varying patient acuity and care needs

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license – NY license required
• Minimum of two years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an Emergency Room or Observation unit setting
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
