Senior Licensed Practical Nurse

Position Details Title: Senior Licensed Practical Nurse – Acute Services Department: Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare (UBHC) – Acute Psychological Services Location: Piscataway, NJ (Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences campus) Work Arrangement: Fully on‑site; 40 hours per week, evening shift. Salary: $34,050 – $35,590 per year (subject to qualification, experience, and internal equity). Overview Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), founded in 1971, is a leading behavioral health provider in New Jersey. UBHC serves children, adolescents, adults, and seniors across 15 sites and offers inpatient, outpatient, crisis stabilization, case management, and community services. The Senior LPN provides technical nursing care to patients of all ages within established guidelines, maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. Responsibilities Take vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure) and document immediately in EMR. Administer medications and parenteral therapy per UBHC guidelines. Perform venipuncture as required. Collect and process laboratory specimens. Follow National Patient Safety Goals and correct patient identification procedures. Provide safe and comfortable care for patients across acute service settings. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an LPN. Valid and current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Competent venipuncture techniques. Strong clinical nursing specialty, excellent communication skills, PC literacy, word‑processing proficiency, and leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications Not specified.
