The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at SEAS invites applications for a non-tenure-track Visiting Associate Professor position, with a dedicated focus on cybersecurity. We are seeking candidates with expertise in cybersecurity and privacy, and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and student mentoring. The ideal candidate will contribute to the department’s growing cybersecurity program and research portfolio and support institutional efforts to achieve NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity designation and ABET accreditation. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, collaboration, and service is essential. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and related disciplines. Conduct high-quality cybersecurity research and actively collaborate with established departmental research teams. Contribute to the development and execution of externally funded research projects. Participate in academic advising, curriculum development, departmental governance, and university service. Support efforts to attain and maintain NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity designation and ABET accreditation. Engage in professional service and community outreach activities aligned with the department’s mission. Minimum Job Requirements Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines with a focus on Cybersecurity. A candidate for appointment to the rank of Associate Professor shall be required to meet the following qualifications: An earned doctorate or the highest appropriate credential in the field of specialization, or experience and achievements comparable to the doctorate A record of scholarship and professional growth At least five (5) years of full-time teaching experience in an institution of higher education, including three (3) years as an Assistant Professor. (Community college experience preferred). Appropriate professional experience and achievements may be substituted when formal teaching experience is limited or absent. A candidate for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor shall be required to meet the following qualifications: An appropriate terminal degree or agree to complete this degree within a period of time to be specified in the terms of the initial contract At least three (3) years of full-time teaching experience, including two (2) years in an institution of higher education. Appropriate professional experience and achievements may be substituted when formal teaching experience is limited or absent. When formal teaching experience is limited or absent, the candidate shall be required to demonstrate verifiable potential for effective teaching.
