About the Position

Travelers may be assigned to an emergency team and are expected to remain at the facility until the event passes. The unit has an average daily census of 34 with a patient ratio of 1:4.8. Weekend coverage is required every other week, totaling 6-7 shifts per 13-week contract. The unit serves a variety of patient diagnoses, including total joint surgeries and general surgery. It is preferred that applicants have experience with non-infectious patients due to the surgical population. The RN will manage various procedures, such as accessing ports, blood product administration, and telemetry. Required skills include management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, and post-operative care. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various services including physical therapy and rapid response teams. Candidates must have no call-in history and must reside over 65 miles from the facility. This contract does not accept local travelers or those who have worked as permanent staff within the past year. References are not required for submission but may be needed for clearance to start the contract. NURSYS reports for RNs must be current and submitted with the profile. Special equipment and procedures may be required, and the RN will need to manage post-operative pathways effectively.
