Assists the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures that are beyond the scope of practice for registered nurses without RNFA education and training. Functions interdependently with the surgeon and applies knowledge, skill, and judgement necessary to assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient. Works with the state laws regarding surgical assisting and the state nursing practice act. The Certified RNFA does not concurrently function as the scrub nurse. Qualifications Shift: FULL TIME VARIED Education: Minimum: Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred. Nurses without a BSN may be grandfathered into this job if current with both CNOR and CRNFA certifications Experience: Minimum of two (2) years perioperative nursing. License/Certification: CNOR and CRNFA Other: CRNFA must be obtained within 2 years, if not present on hire.
