AI And User-Obsessed Product Manager
Consensus is building the OS for research. Today, 10 million students, researchers, and clinicians use our literature review agent to screen papers, synthesize evidence, and automate tedious parts of research, so they can get back to real science.
We recently closed our Series B ($45M total raised), led by Greatpoint and USV with major participation from top AI investors including Nat Friedman, Daniel Gross, and Tim Draper. Our mission is to empower the world to understand, create, and apply good science.
Role: AI and user-obsessed Product Manager to drive product vision, strategy, and development of our agentic research platform. You will be the first PM hire reporting directly to the CPO.
Responsibilities:
- Be the voice of the customer by digesting feedback from user interviews, surveys, support tickets, and sales calls into clear priorities that improve researchers' lives.
- Collaborate with engineers to turn ambiguous user problems into detailed specs (or ship small things yourself!)
- Drive product strategy of existing products (research agent harness, reference manager, MCP/API), and pioneer new academic workflows from reading to writing to peer review.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of product experience (ideally in startups or other fast-paced environments)
- Product obsessive who lives on the frontier of AI tools
- Experience talking to customers, both end users and institutional buyers
- Track record of high-velocity delivery and ownership with minimal direction
- Interest in the mission: science, research, education
Compensation:
- $180-$250k cash
- Generous early stage equity
Final offers are determined by multiple factors and may vary from the amounts listed above.
