The Cape Ann YMCA is looking for a Group Exercise Coordinator to help lead and grow our fitness programs!The Group Exercise Coordinator plays an important role in creating a welcoming, engaging, and high-quality fitness experience for our members. Working closely with the Health & Wellness Director, this position helps coordinate instructor schedules, support program growth, and ensure our group exercise offerings remain exciting, inclusive, and accessible to our community.What You’ll Do️ Lead & Support Fitness ProgramsHelp oversee group exercise classes to ensure safe, inclusive, and engaging experiences.Monitor program success and participant feedback to help improve class offerings.Step in to instruct group exercise classes as needed. Coordinate & Support StaffManage instructor schedules and help ensure class coverage.Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new instructors.Provide guidance and support to help maintain program standards. Support Wellness Programs & EventsAssist with health and wellness initiatives, including Enhance Fitness, LIVESTRONG, and CornerStone.Help plan and support workshops, events, and specialty programming. Administrative & Marketing SupportHelp create flyers, digital promotions, and outreach materials.Track class attendance and help monitor program participation.Assist with payroll review and related documentation. Member EngagementCreate a welcoming and motivating environment for participants.Respond to member questions and feedback to help enhance the overall experience.Help build a strong sense of community through group exercise and wellness programming.Schedule & RequirementsPart-time: 20–24 hours per weekSchedule options: Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–ThursdayGroup Exercise certification is required.Additional certifications in areas of expertise are encouraged.Why Join the YMCA? Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time. Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, twisting and reaching. Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
