We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a hospital-based rehabilitation team in Washington. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, working under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore functional independence. This role involves working with a diverse patient population across inpatient units and outpatient rehabilitation clinics, supporting recovery through hands‑on therapeutic interventions in accordance with Washington State practice standards. Key Responsibilities Carry out physical therapy treatment plans as delegated by and under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Provide care in both inpatient settings (including post-surgical, medical-surgical, and rehabilitation units) and outpatient rehabilitation clinics. Assist patients with therapeutic exercise programs, gait training, mobility activities, transfer training, balance training, and use of assistive devices. Monitor and document patient responses, progress, and tolerance to treatments. Communicate changes in patient status and treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies, Medicare requirements, and Washington state regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated patient care. Assist with patient and caregiver education as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Maintain a safe, clean, and effective treatment environment. Qualifications Required Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting. Current Washington Physical Therapist Assistant License issued by the Washington State Department of Health, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start. Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) for Physical Therapist Assistants, or eligibility for licensure. Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Preferred Experience in inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Familiarity with hospital documentation systems and electronic medical records (EMRs). Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, or medically complex patient populations.
