Licensed Optician - Assistant Manager

Job Description As an Assistant Eyeglass Manager, you will oversee daily operations of our stores, manage personnel, and maintain inventory control to provide a positive customer experience and keep associates happy. Responsibilities Drive and monitor profit, sales, and performance goals according to National Vision standards. Monitor retail operating costs, budgets, and resources. Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines. Identify areas of opportunity and create action plans for improvement. Convey a commitment to outstanding customer service and ensure all associates follow the same. Ensure quality standards are met. Ensure effective merchandising and execution of marketing, pricing, promotions, and initiatives in line with Brand and Company standards. Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates (and sometimes Receptionists) and ensure the timely completion of day-to-day functions. Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining a high caliber staff. Lead and coach associates towards the attainment of sales and customer service goals. Mentor potential Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law. Qualifications Maintain an optical license as required by state. Experience in optical sales; supervisory experience preferred. Proven ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships. Strong understanding of store operations and standards for success. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) for effective management of teams. Exceptional customer service skills. Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress toward goals. Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope. ABO and NCLE certified.
