Production Worker - 1st Shift with Overtime - Alabaster, AL

Snelling is recruiting for experienced Production Worker for a global sealing solutions provider based in Alabaster, Alabama. The Production Worker is responsible for performing various duties, including setting up, operating, and tending machines that wind or twist yarn.


Pay:17.00-18.00/hr, depending on experience
Shift: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, some weekend work


Essential Functions for Production Worker:
• Thread yarn and other materials or products through equipment such as guides or needles.
• Start machines; monitor operation, such as spinning and twisting; and make adjustments as needed.
• Observe spinning and twisting process to detect defects.
• Adjust machine controls, such as tensions or speeds, to produce specified products.
• Inspect and monitor machinery to ensure proper functioning and to determine whether repairs are needed.
• Inspect products to ensure that specifications and quality control standards are met.
• Assist with spray painting products.
• Record production data, such as size, length, and category of spool created.
• Notify supervisor when additional materials are needed.
• Required to complete other activities assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications/Experience Needed for Production Worker:
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, operation procedures, and safety policies.
• Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
• Good verbal communication skills. Bilingual - Spanish and English.
• Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
• Ability to wear respirator for entire shift.
• A work history that demonstrates the ability to set or exceed goals.
• 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred.
