MA Nampa/Boise Geriatrics Clinic Full-Time Days

Overview At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant to support our Geriatrics Clinic in Boise and Nampa. This MA position will primarily support a newer NP provider and work with a provider team that includes a Social Worker and Pharmacist. The role will start at the Boise clinic and transfer to the Nampa clinic in the fall when the new provider begins. Responsibilities Perform typical MA duties, including POC testing, immunizations, lab draws, medication refills and patient calls and triage. Assist with minor procedures and healthcare and cognitive assessments when needed. Build relationships with older patients and their families to support continuity of care. Cross‑train in Internal Medicine and support MAs and other providers as required. Attend educational trainings, symposium planning and other work related to the specialties of the clinic. Maintain a sense of urgency during rooming and anticipate provider needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required at hire. MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA). New graduates – MA certificate of completion from an accredited program and either 100‑hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience. Medical Assistant with Experience – at least 1 year of MA experience OR current MA certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days of hire from an approved agency. Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network required at hire. EMT and CNA certifications will not count toward an MA certification. Note: CNA work experience does not qualify applicants for the MA position. Schedule 40 hours per week, 4 – 10 hour days – Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (Thursdays off). Hours are 7:00am – 5:30pm, with start and end times that may vary based on provider schedule and clinic staffing needs. Locations Boise Clinic: 1055 N. Curtis Road, Boise, ID (on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus). Nampa Clinic: 1510 12th Avenue Rd., Ste 200, Nampa, ID 83686.
