*Job Description:*

*Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Independent contractor*

*Reports to: Operations Manager of Endoscopy Services*

*Position Summary*

The CRNA is responsible for the clinical management and overall care of the patient as related to anesthesia. Work as part of a team focused environment with physicians, nurses, and other Endoscopy Center personnel.

*Job Responsibilities*

Administration of anesthesia and clinical management of patients according to accepted anesthesia standards:

* Assess all patients pre-procedure to ensure appropriateness and risk of anesthesia.
* Refer high risk patients to hospital based procedure scheduling.
* Optimize patient for anesthesia prior to initiation of anesthetic agent.
* Cardiac and respiratory monitoring of patients under sedation.
* Maintain patients cardiorespiratory stability intra-procedure.
* Provide emergent treatment when indicated which may include intubation when necessary.
* Completion of required anesthesia documentation per Ohio Revised Code and Centers for Medicare/Medicaid.
* Transport patient to recovery room.
* Provide anesthesia handoff to recovery room nurse (RN or LPN) or medical assistant (MA).
* Assess patient for post-procedure complications of anesthetic consequence.
* Utilize and restock supplies in an efficient manner.
* Maintain infection control standards per North Shore Infection Control policies.
* Collaborate with peers to assist with breaks, lunch, and emergency coverage when scheduling permits.
* Venipuncture when nursing is unavailable or unable to successfully establish intravenous access.

*Qualifications*

Education and Experience: CRNA Ohio licensure. Maintain current BLS and ACLS. Three years of experience as a CRNA. Recommendations from former or current employers and peers. Ability and willingness to adapt to endoscopy environment and successfully meet the needs of the endoscopy center schedule. Work collaboratively with the physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, and scope technicians to provide high quality and compassionate care for persons undergoing endoscopic procedures.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $165.00 - $185.00 per hour
