Service Engineer

[About the Role]
Join a dynamic team as a Service Engineer supporting Dell server and data center systems in Barstow, TX. This contract position offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, including opportunities to work with emerging AI platforms. You'll make a direct impact by ensuring maximum uptime for critical infrastructure while collaborating closely with both internal teams and customers.

[Responsibilities]

- Deliver rapid, on-site technical support for Dell server and data center hardware, minimizing downtime
- Execute hardware maintenance, including server builds, component swaps, replacements, and firmware updates
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues spanning hardware, firmware, and operating systems
- Perform both reactive and preventive maintenance following established protocols
- Ensure clear communication and resolution during service events with customers and internal teams
- Accurately document service activities and contribute to continuous improvement and best practices
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended coverage as needed

[Required Skills and Experience]

- 3-5+ years' experience in technical support, field service, or data center environments
- Proven hands-on skills with server components (CPU, memory, power supplies, GPUs)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience supporting servers or data center hardware in field or customer-facing roles
- Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems
- Ability to work independently on-site and communicate effectively with customers
- Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, travel to customer sites, and support flexible/on-call schedules
