Clinical Nurse GYN ONC

Unit Overview 5900 is a unique 30-bed unit that provides care to female patients hospitalized for female-related issues, with a primary focus on GYN Oncology. The unit offers chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, symptom management, pain management, palliative care, and hospice care. Care is moderate to high acuity and includes high complexity interventions. It is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team including oncology-trained nurses, APNs, case managers, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy, psycho-social support, and our physician team. Employment Details Part Time. Days. BSN or ADN required. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's or Nursing. No experience required. No supervisory experience required. License: RN. Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Experience: none specified.
